JOHN AGATE, JR...

...was the grandson of William and Mary Agate. They arrived in Pittsford (then Northfield) in 1795 and built a log cabin on Thornell Road. Bill and Mary had seven children, one of whom was John Sr., and he married Emily Beers. This couple also had seven children, the fifth being our subject, John Jr.
